City Revenue Snapshot: Revenue Trends of Michigan Cities 2002 to 2017 (Public Sector Consultants, 2019)

Methodology

Information in this database comes from Michigan Department of Treasury’s F65 report. The data set for this study includes general fund revenue data for 225 of Michigan’s 280 cities that reported data. The 225 cities selected for the report include those cities that had significantly complete datasets as gathered by the Michigan Department of Treasury. Unfortunately, treasury’s base year datasets are incomplete, so in many instances we were unable to include their comparative data in our report. This database is a snapshot showing stories of the financial challenges facing Michigan’s cities and why they continue to struggle financially. This database and related report is not intended to be all encompassing and should not be used in calculating total revenue loses or gains for every city in the state.
